Scopely is looking for a People Operations Specialist to join our Global People team in Barcelona on a flexible hybrid basis!

What Youll Do

TheGlobal People Operations and Background Checks Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient onboarding experience for new hires while maintaining compliance with employment regulations. This role is responsible for managing Global People Operations functionswith a strong focus on onboardingand overseeing background check processes to support the organizations hiring and compliance needs. The ideal candidate is detailoriented proactive and passionate about creating seamless experiences for employees.

People Operations

  • Own and manage the onboarding process ensuring all new hires have a seamless experience from offer acceptance to their first day.
  • Conduct new hire orientations ensuring employees have all necessary resources and information to succeed.
  • Ensure all new hires have the legal right to work and have completed all required documentation before their start date.
  • Save all documents employment contracts IDs and other legally required documents in the HRIS (e.g. Workday).
  • Collaborate with People Business Partners (PBPs) IT and hiring managers to facilitate a smooth onboarding process.
  • Support offboarding processes when needed including compliance with local labor laws and coordination with PBPs and Legal.
  • Ensure accuracy in all new hire data entry and conduct quarterly audits.
  • Provide administrative support for HR processes projects
  • Assist with compliance and labor law requirements ensuring HR policies align with global and local standards.
  • Partner with Legal IT and HR Tech to maintain HR systems and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to government agencies as required.

Background Checks

  • Manage and coordinate background check processes for new hires ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations.
  • Liaise with our background check vendor to ensure timely completion of screenings.
  • Review background check results and escalate discrepancies or concerns to relevant stakeholders (ER Talent Acquisition and Legal).
  • Maintain and organize background check records to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Continuously refine and improve background check policies and procedures based on best practices and legal requirements.
  • Provide guidance to hiring managers and internal stakeholders regarding background check policies and procedures.

What Were Looking For

  • 2 years of experience in HR People Operations or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Background Checks.
  • Experience handling onboarding processes and employment documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail confidentiality and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook) and familiarity with HRIS systems (Workday preferred).
  • Strong customer service mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
