Job Description
About the Role:
The Environmental Services Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean safe and healthy environment within the educational facility. This position is responsible for ensuring that all areas are sanitized and wellmaintained contributing to the overall wellbeing of students staff and visitors. The technician will implement cleaning protocols and procedures that adhere to health and safety regulations thereby minimizing the risk of contamination and illness. Additionally the role involves monitoring and managing waste disposal and recycling efforts promoting sustainability within the institution. Ultimately the Environmental Services Technician helps create a welcoming and conducive learning environment through their diligent work and attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a cleaning or custodial role preferably in an educational setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in cleaning and sanitation practices.
- Knowledge of environmentally friendly cleaning products and techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of classrooms restrooms hallways and common areas.
- Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling practices are followed throughout the facility.
- Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment reporting any shortages or malfunctions.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations while executing cleaning tasks and using chemicals.
- Assist in special cleaning projects as needed such as deep cleaning during school breaks.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include attention to detail which is essential for ensuring that all areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Time management skills are also crucial as the technician must efficiently complete tasks within a set timeframe while maintaining high standards.
