Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support its Power & Controls organization. This position will sit at our Aguadilla PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What YOU will do:

• Circuit Board Level Requirements analysis and decomposition
• Lead and/or support design development and analysis of electrical circuitry: analog digital and/or power circuits including DSPs FPGAs sensor interfaces motor controllers linear and switching power supplies
• Lead and/or support failure investigations using Relentless Root Cause Analysis methodologies
• Support manufacturing and production of electrical and electromechanical products for failure analyses parts obsolescence and preventive maintenance
• Testing and/or troubleshooting of hardware using standard electrical board testing and environmental testing
• Documentation of hardware design plans technical requirements functional specifications design specifications qualification test plans and reports
• Project planning efforts for support and to schedule and budget including obsolescence planning

Qualifications you must have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree 9 years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• BS in Electrical Engineering
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions to improve yield. (e.g. fault tree 5 Why fishbone)
• Experience working in the aerospace industry
• Experience reading and understanding assembly drawings circuit card schematics and assembly instructions.
• Experience with development tools including Cadence Siemens PSPice and MATLAB
• Experience with electrical hardware development and certification lifecycle including: electrical architecture design requirements analysis & development electrical design of power management analog and digital circuits development & integration and qualification testing
• Experience with Power Design Filter Harmonic Control EMI Suppression Circuit Simulation Overload Short Circuit Stress Analysis
