Job Description
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Duties of the position include: shortterm individual group and couples therapy; clinical supervision and training of doctoral interns and practicum/externs within a robust training environment (if educational / licensure requirements met to provide supervision); psychological assessment; crisis intervention; consultation; case management as needed outreach and psychoeducational workshops (sometimes after hours); liaison/consultant relationships with university partners; and rotating after hours emergency/crisis on call responsibilities as backup to ProtoCall. All Staff Psychologist / Counselor positions involve some administrative responsibilities and opportunities for leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology or related field or Masters Degree in Counseling Social Work or related field and eligibility for appropriate licensure in North Carolina. The successful candidate will be expected to obtain licensure in North Carolina within one year of start date and maintain licensure for the continuation of the appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
The following is a list of preferred qualifications: 1. For doctoral applicants APA approved training for both academic and internship preparation. 2. Experience in a university counseling center with a student affairs perspective. 3. Experience as a clinical supervisor. 4. Demonstrated interest skill and experience in one of the following areas: Group Therapy including coordination of the Counseling Centers Group Therapy program. Providing clinical services and outreach programming for men. Psychological testing and assessment including providing assessment training for trainees. Providing clinical services and outreach programming to historically underserved populations including but not limited to students of color LGBTQQ and veterans. Candidates should also be committed to a proactive student development perspective involving an active relationship with the campus community; demonstrate cultural awareness in their work; be teamoriented and collaborative with students colleagues and university staff; and have broad generalist clinical skills in assessing and intervening with a wide range of disorders concerns and degrees of pathology.
