DescriptionBACKGROUND
Kroll Securities Limited (Kroll) is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and operates a Regulatory Hosting Solution (RHS) acting as Principal firm to thirdparty Appointed Representatives (ARs). We are looking for an experienced individual to support Krolls Senior Management team with the daytoday oversight of the operations of the RHS.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Oversight of the RHS platform:
- Responsibility for ensuring that processes and governance arrangements relating to the operation of the RHS work as intended and remain effective and appropriate
- Keep up with regulatory changes and expected industry service standards and incorporate into the RHS processes as applicable
- Responsibility for managing a team of compliance professionals involved in the oversight of Krolls RHS
- Ensure RHS staff receive appropriate training to perform their duties
- Work closely with the SMF 3 Head of Compliance and line MD to operate the business whilst continuously reviewing and improving processes
- Manage and coordinate the relationship with relevant Kroll internal functions (e.g. central Legal Compliance and Finance teams)
- Operate and chair the RHS quarterly Risk Oversight Group meetings
- Oversee and coordinate the preparation of RHS reports for KSL Board meetings
- Ensure adherence to the RHS risk appetite framework and ongoing monitoring of ARs risk ratings
2. Technical support:
- Coordinating drafting and reviewing responses to FCA enquiries and information requests
- Advising on complex / technical queries from RHS staff and ARs
- Advising on daytoday compliance matters e.g. client categorisation or KYC queries financial promotions reviews and other matters
- Reviewing potential or actual compliance breaches and assist with required escalation and remediation
- Advise on issues to be escalated and assist with the drafting of relevant internal or external escalation records and documents (e.g. internal memos for Kroll Senior Management or Compliance team and/or FCA Principle 11 notifications as required
- Oversee the roll out of compliance monitoring technology and monitoring tools
3. Client service and growth:
- Ensure adherence with client servicing standards and exceptional client service focus
- Lead and coordinate business development initiatives to drive growth of the RHS platform
- Be involved in and lead meetings with prospective ARs and client pitches
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders (e.g. law firms fund administrators and other service providers)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven senior experience in a compliance role within the FCA an FCA regulated firm or a consultancy practice (ideally with a focus on regulatory hosting).
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the FCA Handbook and in particular the requirements applicable to Principal firms and ARs
- Detailed knowledge of the alternatives investment industry (with particular focus on Private Markets)
- Experience in managing and developing highperforming teams
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Clientfacing solutions focused skills
- Clear logical thought processes ability to make decisions and articulate these clearly
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Time management and ability to work under pressure
- Contacts within the UK and overseas investment industry would be useful
