Job Description

The full salary range for this position is $74200 to $94200 per year.

Human Kinetics (HK) is headquartered in Champaign IL. This position is eligible for onsite hybrid or fully remote work.

Remote workers may not reside in the following locations: CA CO Washington D.C. HI MA Montgomery County MD MN NM NY RI & WA.

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Required Credentials: 3 to 5 years of Health and Physical Education teaching experience with a teaching degree in Health Education or Physical Education is required. Experience in supervising Health and PE content is also highly recommended.

Job Summary

The K12 Curriculum Specialist is responsible for promoting and supporting the adoption and implementation of Human Kinetics K12 instructional materials programs. The K12 Curriculum Specialist will work closely with K12 decisionmakers and HK staff to identify customer needs and develop resources to address those needs. They will deliver presentations and trainings for sales opportunities field testing and implementation trainings. The K12 Curriculum Specialist will possess deep knowledge in Health Education and Physical Education content pedagogy and state and national standards along with a keen passion for supporting educators with the best possible resources and training.

Eligibility for remote work: Human Kinetics is headquartered in Champaign IL but this position is eligible for fulltime or hybrid telecommuting.

Essential Functions

  1. Demonstrate strong understanding of K12 pedagogy and Health and Physical Education content.
  2. Develop and exhibit expert understanding of Health and Physical Education standards current education pedagogy and market trends.
  3. Develop and exhibit expert knowledge of Human Kinetics K12 print and digital solutions.
  4. Work closely with colleagues to assemble highquality ancillary resources (including learning objectives content activities and instructional supports) including print and digital projects.
  5. Collaborate with Sales Editorial Marketing Production ELearning and Customer Service to address customer needs and develop ancillary resources to support those needs.
  6. Correlate educational materials to national and state standards and frameworks; develop pacing guides scope and sequence and curriculum maps.
  7. Drive educators to make sound decisions regarding instructional materials and learning outcomes.
  8. Provide Field Test/Pilot Kickoff Trainings. Support field testing with consistent ongoing communication and support.
  9. Expertly deliver Program Implementation Trainings and support educators in implementing HK programs with fidelity.
  10. Maintain positive ongoing relationships with the customer providing support or redirection to appropriate Human Kinetics resources as needed.
  11. Understand sales campaign strategy market trends and Human Kinetics K12 products and services to meet the needs of HK customers.
  12. Collaborate across departments to ensure that market requirements project schedules and goals are met.
  13. Be productive exercise efficient work habits prioritize and exhibit flexibility.
  14. Expertly communicate with all levels of state and district K12 staff.
  15. Provide excellent customer service at all times.
  16. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  17. Must be able to travel via plane train and automobile.
  18. Must have a valid drivers license and be able to rent a car in your name.

Secondary Functions

  1. Continually develop presentation skills staying uptodate on new presentation tools and strategies.
  2. Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the most widelyused K12 learning management systems.
  3. Travel to customer locations as needed to make presentations meet with decisionmakers and train staff. Travel requests are sometimes made with short notice.
  4. Attend state and national conferences as requested. Attend workshop sessions in an effort to stay current on trends standards and competitor products.


Job Qualifications

Minimally Required Education

3 to 5 years of Health and Physical Education teaching experience with a teaching degree in Health Education or Physical Education is required.

Preferred Education

Masters degree or higher in Physical Education and/or Health Education teacher preparation.

Minimally Required Experience

5 year of K12 education experience including teaching experience.

2 years of experience conducting teacher inservice training and/or curriculum evaluation/writing.

Preferred Experience

10 years of K12 education experience including teaching experience.

3 years of sales/consulting training experience in the educational sales industry.

Job Demands
