The Department of Computational Engineering and Mathematical Sciences at Texas A&M UniversitySan Antonio (A&MSA) seeks applications from qualified candidates with a passion for teaching for a fulltime nontenuretrack Lecturer position in Mathematics beginning in Fall 2025. Area of specialization is open but an ability to teach introductory college mathematics courses is required. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach Dual Credit/Early College High School students enrolled in those courses either on the university campus or in local high schools. Excellence in teaching and ability and willingness to collaborate with colleagues on improving success rates in entrylevel mathematics courses is expected. Contribution to improving student success in entry level mathematics courses is a high priority for the institution. The base teaching load at A&MSA for lecturers is 5/5; reassigned time for service is possible. Summer teaching assignments may be available but are not guaranteed. This is a position that requires teaching in person on campus though a few courses may be taught online.
A&MSA is a comprehensive regional university with nearly 8000 students (Fall 2024 enrolled in undergraduate programs and select graduate programs. It has transformed rapidly into a growing urban university during the past decade. Part of the statewide Texas A&M University System A&MSA is located on 694 acres in south San Antonio and serves a multicultural student body offering academic programs that meet regional needs. The campus with Mudjar style buildings and contemporary facilities that leverage technology to enhance the student experience embraces the spirit of San Antonios rich culture. Selfreported demographic data indicate 60 of students are the first generation in their family in college 77 are Hispanic and 66 women. The goal is to meet students where they are be sensitive to their academic and curricular needs and be committed to their progressive and sustained growth.
The Department provides a rich educational experience for students interested in computing cybersecurity engineering technology and mathematics. We offer bachelors degree programs in these disciplines as also support courses in physics for STEM majors. We also offer Masters degree programs in Computer Science and Cybersecurity. Our students enjoy learning in person and in online/hybrid courses with small class sizes and stateoftheart technology in hightech classrooms. We emphasize handson experiential learning and critical thinking and the participation of students in research under our facultys mentorship.

Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Required Qualifications:
A Masters degree in Mathematics or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution. All concentration areas will be considered.
A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics or a closely related field.
Teaching at the university level.
Excellent teaching and communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience teaching Dual Credit/Early College High School courses or high school teaching experience.
Experience in improving student success in entrylevel mathematics courses.
Experience collaborating with faculty on projects geared toward students academic success.
Experience with Learning Management Systems.
