Senior Development Engineer
Northamptonshire

EMBS Engineering is currently recruiting for a Senior Development Engineer to join a precision engineering company located in Northamptonshire working on a permanent basis.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Workclosely with design teams to understand partcapabilities and requirements
- Define what tests are needed on engine/ powertrain parts and develop a testing plan
- Development calibrationand optimisation of highend powertrain components
- Full engine dynamometer and subsystem rig testing
- Engine calibration and driveability testing (from testbed to road/track)
- Test the parts on various aspects including reliability emissions tenstile drivability etc
- Data analysis reporting and combustion pressure measurement
- Collaboration with top Motorsport and Automotive brands
- Work closely with Test Technicians providing support for all testing activities
Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
- Minimum 3yearsexperience in engine development
- Strong knowledge and demonstarted working experience within a similar role
- Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
- Strong knowledge of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE)/Hybrid or Electric Powertrain Emotors Electric Motors Transmission gearboxes Hybrid Engine Systems etc
- Confidence understanding the testing requirements and being able to create a testing plan
- Demonstratable experience of reviewing calibration emisions and performance data
- Experience of using Dynometers / Testing rigs
- Analytical mindset with problemsolving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team under pressure
- Excellent communication and structured approach to work
- Must have the right to work in the UK
