Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Design and prepare preliminary and final plans for water and sanitation designs of bulk water networks Storm & Flood water
- Sustainable Hydrology design Pumps & Pipeline design
- Pumpstation design Slurry design Sewer & Sewage Pumpstation design Urban drainage design and Water Resource planning and management.
- Ensure the estimation of project cost drawingup of contracts and developing of specifications for labour material and equipment.
- Develop preliminary engineering treatments to determine construction feasibility and estimated cost.
- Prepares final layout drawings and stress calculations.
- Recommend construction methods best suited to soil types encountered.
- Discuss plans specifications and works schedules with contractors utility companies and other governmental agencies.
- Ensure the survey staking layout and inspection of construction projects.
- Ensure the setup of the project and project meetings.
- Ensure project reviews quality assurance cost control health & safety and invoicing of the project.
- Prepare a Closeout report.
- Compile a project budget and monitoring thereof to optimise cost savings and/or profit margins.
- Apply and Adhere to all Quality Management Procedures
- Implement and monitor Cost Management Measures.
- Support Mentor and Guide Junior & Graduate Engineers
Requirements
- A relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent
- BEng/ BSc Eng/ BTech (Civil Eng)
- Registered as Pr. Eng / Pr. Tech
- 8 years experience in Water & Sanitation Engineering Consulting
- Experience in Water & Sanitation Engineering Design
- Experience in Sitebased work
- Knowledge of Water & Sanitation Engineering Design
- Knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety laws and regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft office. Microsoft Projects Auto CAD Civil 3D HECRAS EPANET Model Maker Surge Analysis
- Software Civil Designer Stormwater Software.
- Project Management knowledge
- Business Acumen
- Problemsolving skills
- Knowledge of ISO 9001
- Budgeting and Cost management skills
