Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teachingrelated activities.
Manage the classroom/laboratory.
Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
Manage equipment supplies and materials.
Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area. Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
Promote the education/training program participate in efforts to recruit and retain students and participate in efforts to market MATC.
Support student organizations and activities.
Develop relationships with business and industry.
Complete program evaluation and followup.
Maintain certification continue professional development and stay current in the field. Perform other duties as assigned.
Educationalrequirements
Associate degree or higher in any field or educational equivalency*.
*Educational Equivalency: Occupational experience combined with education and training totaling seven years or 14000 hours.
Occupational experience
Musthaveaminimum of 5yearsoffulltimeorequivalent(10000hours)experience asalicensednail technician (manicurist)ormanicurist instructor.

Technologybased Instruction Experience with technologybased instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium interactive touch screen monitors LCD projectors DVD players and/or other classroom technology
Emerging Technologies Experience with emerging technologies (eg. social networking applications)
Hours
This position is a .5 FTE the number of hours worked per week will vary based on course load. Work is conducted during scheduled course hours.

Salary
The starting hourly wage for all parttime faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Parttime faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is nonnegotiable unless market conditions dictate otherwise.EEO/AA
