Manager Philanthropy and Development

Position Summary

The Manager Philanthropy and Development will be responsible for driving philanthropic funding growth and overseeing programs supported by this funding. This role will play a crucial part in advancing the organisations strategy by managing a portfolio of philanthropic relationships and ensuring the effective delivery of programs that benefit children young people and families. The Manager will work closely with philanthropic funders to foster longterm relationships and develop strategies for sustained program impact.

Position Title: Manager Philanthropy and Development

Work Type: Full time 12 months (extension pending further funding)

Salary Package: $120000 per annum (regulated superannuation contributions 11.5 and NFP Salary Packaging benefits)

Location: Hybrid work from home & Melbourne CBD office

Reports to: CEO

Key Accountabilities

Philanthropic Growth:

• Develop and implement a strategic plan to grow philanthropic revenue including major gifts trusts foundations and corporate partnerships.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with new and existing philanthropic funders to secure ongoing support.
• Oversee the design and of targeted campaigns events and engagement strategies to increase philanthropic contributions.
• Prepare compelling grant proposals funding applications and reports to attract and retain donors.

Program Oversight:

• Manage programs funded by philanthropic donations ensuring they align with organisational goals and funder requirements.
• Oversee program planning delivery and evaluation to ensure highquality outcomes for children young people and families.
• Ensure compliance with grant conditions and reporting requirements maintaining open communication with philanthropic funders.

Collaboration & Strategy:

• Collaborate with senior leadership to align philanthropic goals with the broader organisational strategy.
• Work closely with program teams to ensure successful integration of funding and program objectives.
• Provide regular reporting to the CEO on philanthropic performance and program impact.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential

• Proven experience in fundraising donor relations or a similar role focused on philanthropy within the notforprofit sector.
• Excellent communication and relationshipbuilding abilities with a focus on philanthropic partnerships.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare clear persuasive and wellstructured grant proposals reports and communications tailored to diverse audiences including philanthropic funders senior leadership and the board.
• Proven experience in effectively presenting ideas project outcomes and funding proposals to a variety of stakeholders including funders internal teams and external partners with an ability to engage and influence.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in pursuit of shared goals fostering collaboration and open communication. Shows respect for diverse perspectives supports team members and adapts to different working styles to contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple programs and funding streams.

Desirable

• Desirable experience working in community support advocacy or peak body organisations with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities in these fields.
• Knowledge of program design and delivery particularly within advocacy or child/family services sectors with an emphasis on developing effective strategies that achieve positive outcomes.
