Job Description
Peterson Trucks has the immediate need for an experienced Parts Delivery Driver at our San Leandro CA location.
SUMMARY
The Parts Delivery Driver will drive a passenger truck to deliver and sell products or render services collects money from customers and makes change by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The following reflects managements definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign the functions to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Job functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Drives Company truck in safe manner to deliver parts to customers place of business.
- Collects money from customers makes change and records transactions on customer receipt.
- Writes customer orders to include customers instructions.
- Records sales or deliveries information on daily sales or delivery record.
- Prepares order forms and sales contracts.
- Listens to and relays service complaints to supervisor.
- Collects or picks up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
- Loads truck with parts to be delivered up to 50lbs.
- Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
- Maintains punctual regular and predictable attendance.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs routine maintenance on truck checks lights water oil and maintains the inside of the truck clean.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
- Displays excellent communication skills including presentation persuasion and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
- Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/manager.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year of driving experience and three to six months of customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid drivers license with clean driving record.
The pay range for this position is: $18.91 $23.00 USD Hourly. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.
