Job Description
Overview
Susquehanna is seeking a Mid to Senior level Software Engineer to join our Options Trading desk. This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of quant studies and trading requiring tight coupling and collaboration between these domains.
As a pivotal figure in the development and evolution of a highly impactful production trading system the engineer will also act as a crossfunctional leader among the core development/engineering team bridging various aspects of quantitative analysis and trading practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance a proprietary inhouse platform designed for production signal development focusing on userfriendly and futurecompatible design.
- Work alongside traders and quants to develop performant highthroughput systems and tooling leveraging market data to inform trading decisions.
- Influence and lead across various domains within the engineering team fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and strategic alignment.
- Drive innovation by contributing to the technical vision and strategy and mentor team members across different functional areas.
- Design develop and implement client/server applications in a performancesensitive trading environment using Python and C# as primary development languages.
How youll make an impact:
- Engage in foundational projects and utilize fullstack development experience and network programming to reduce latency.
- Play a crucial role in the integration of team efforts with the trading process quickly iterating alongside top quants and traders to deliver impactful trading tools and services.
- Act as a crossdomain leader influencing teams beyond your immediate area of expertise and facilitating effective communication and collaboration.

What were looking for
- 6 years of experience in software development (C# or Java) with at least 3 years of experience in backend systems level development in Python
- Experience building high throughput and performance demanding applications/systems
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with both technical and nontechnical teams
- Eagerness to learn about both the business and technology aspects of trading
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related discipline
