Whats the job
The Market Conduct Compliance Manager plays a key role in ensuring Coast Capital Savings meets and is able to demonstrate compliance with its consumer protection obligations including federal Financial Consumer Protection Framework provisions. They will leverage their regulatory compliance subject matter expertise to provide valueadded advice to business units impacted by market conduct requirements fulfill a second of line of defence review and challenge role for new initiatives and risk assessment activities and assess the adequacy and effectiveness of regulatory compliance controls.
What youll get to do:
- Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of business unit regulatory compliance controls by overseeing first line of defence key control activities and conducting independent testing activities.
- Assess inherent and residual regulatory compliance risks of initiatives and participates in enterprise projects as a second line of defence subject matter expert to mitigate regulatory compliance risk.
- Oversee business unit regulatory compliance risk remediation activities including assisting in preparing regulator communication related to breaches of consumer provisions.
- Scan the regulatory horizon and identifies and works with impacted business units to implement controls to comply with applicable regulatory requirements and effectively manage regulatory risk.
- Create and updates enterprise policies that support the Market Conduct Risk Management framework by outlining legislative and regulatory requirements in plain language.
Who You Are:
- Bachelors Degree or a diploma requiring 3 4 years of fulltime study.
- Minimum 5 Years of Job Related Experience in compliance and/or risk management is required
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Canadian financial services industry is required and experience in a federally regulated financial institution preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to communicate legislative and regulatory requirements in a clear and easy to understand manner
- Ability to draft and improve policies processes and procedures
- Proficient knowledge of risk management principles and concepts
- Exceptional written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize large amounts of complex information
