Job Description
Department: Engineering
Summary:
Designs clear complete and accurately working products using CAD rough or detailed sketches or notes. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.
Primary Duties:
- Makes drawings checking material dimensions and relationship to other parts and to the entire structure or project on the drawing
- Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards
- Verifies dimensional accuracy of structural layouts and installations
- Works with manufacturing vendors and engineering to ensure documentation meets specifications
- Must work with sales team and customers on design and applications
- Constructs drawings from concepts or sketches
- Review and critique proposed engineering standards policies or details
- Prepares charts for representation of statistical data
- Provide technical advice to manufacturing sales and customers to assist in resolving problems.
- Must be able to effectively present information to clients customers and employees
- Work with and support ISO 9000 work instructions and procedures
- Maintain accurate records and files

Qualifications/Experience:
- Equivalent to a two or four year degree preferred with major course work in an engineering curriculum or a related area of study; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
- Knowledge of Solid Works 2007 or newer
- Knowledge of electrical circuits and hydraulic system design
- Must have strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry
- Excellent computer knowledge and skills with drafting programs
- Excellent communication skills required
- Must be detail oriented and possess a willingness to accept challenges and strive for continual improvement in all areas
- Must be safety minded and practice shop safety
- Must be self motivated to work independently
