The Dartmouth Cancer Center is looking for aBC/BE hematology/oncologyphysicianto join their regional clinics in northern Vermont and New Hampshire. This position will require travel between two of the three Dartmouth Cancer Center clinics in St. Johnsbury VT Littleton Hospital in Littleton NH and Weeks Memorial Hospital in Lancaster NH. This position provides critical cancer care to patients and families in the Northeast Kingdom of VT and Northern New Hampshire. This position is supported by an excellent clinical team made up of group of Advanced Practice Providers nursing staff radiation oncologists medical oncologists social workers and dieticians.
Ideal candidates will be able to collaborate effectively within an expanding integrated health system have excellent communication skills and evidence of a strong clinical background.Other activities include community service education and participation in clinical research.Candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment through the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College at a rank commensurate with qualifications.
The Dartmouth Cancer Center (DCC) is one of only72 NCIDesignated Comprehensive Cancer Centersand the only one north of Boston and east of Buffalo. DCC is committed to providing access to researchbased highquality care advanced technologies and clinical trials for patients throughout northern New England. This position is critical to DCCs mission to provide toprated care to patients throughout its catchment area. Its research clinical care and training are integrated at the Cancer Center with priority on translation of innovation interdisciplinary care team science and career development.
This position is adjacent to Vermonts Northeast Kingdom and is in New Hampshires North Country which is a desired vacation setting offering some of the most beautiful scenery and natural wonders in America. The Appalachian Trail passes through the area and the Connecticut River borders the West with the White Mountains on one side and Vermonts Green Mountains on the other side. One enjoys four beautiful seasons here in this traditional New England location complete with stone walls farms and a 300yearold landscape reminiscent of a Currier and Ives print. This scenic area of Northern New England offers distinctive shops fine dining art galleries and a range of outdoor activities for all seasons including easy access to hiking mountain biking skiing and riding and snowmobiling in the famous Presidential Range.
