We are seeking an experienced Commercial Safety Manager to oversee safety protocols and procedures for a dedicated commercial construction project on a larger scale. This role involves ensuring that all safety policies are met and maintained providing guidance and support to the project team and fostering a culture of safety onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop implement and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures in compliance with local state and federal regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure the safety of all personnel on site.
Provide safety training and guidance to all team members including subcontractors to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
Monitor and report on safety performance metrics addressing any safety incidents or concerns promptly.
Collaborate with project management to integrate safety considerations into project planning and .
Facilitate safety meetings and briefings ensuring that safety protocols and best practices are communicated effectively.
Investigate accidents incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and ensure that all necessary permits and safety documentation are up to date.
Stay current with industry safety standards and best practices applying this knowledge to enhance site safety measures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science Construction Management or a related field preferred.
Proven experience as a Safety Manager or similar role in the construction industry with a focus on commercial projects.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations safety standards and risk management practices.
Certification in safety management (e.g. CSP CHST NEBOSH) is highly desirable.
Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
Ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative team environment.
