Job Description

Burrow Global has an immediate need for an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Project Engineer (E&I)for a petrochemical company in Port Neches TX.

Candidates for this position will be responsible for supporting operations and capital projects at the facility. The primary objective of the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Project Engineer is to drive Project implementation at the organizations site. In this role you will develop and steward our project systems/processes which will help improve the sites overall electrical and instrumentation assets.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

In order of importance and time spent annually list the expected duties of this job.
With limited supervision and moderate decisionmaking:

  • Provide design engineering support for instrumentation and electrical projects.
  • Responsible for developing scope of work details for instrument and electrical discipline
  • Serves as a Project Team Leader if required and is responsible for the project success (Cost Timing and Quality)
  • Provides Electrical / Instrumentation expertise to the plant
  • Provides startup assistance for new installations
  • Participates in Design Hazard Reviews
  • Responsible for performing equipment design calculations and providing equipment specifications for the purchase of new equipment
  • Responsible for determining drafting resource requirements and requesting resources when required
  • Responsible for developing spare parts list for new equipment
  • Responsible for conducting project meetings when required
  • Accountable for project implementation including field inspection problem solving and coordination
  • Ensure that the activities are carried out to comply with the integrated management system as applicable (safety food safety GMP health environmental quality and responsible care requirements).
  • Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Assists other employees in accomplishments of the organizations goals.
  • Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Participates in Environmental Health & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes companyrequired training programs.

Education / Experience / Skills Requirements

BS Electrical Engineering AND 5 years of experience in E&I Project Engineering required

  • 5 years experience with Electrical / Power distribution projects in a petrochemical or refinery environment.
  • Experience with DeltaV Foxboro and Triconex instrumentation is highly desired.
  • Low and Medium Power Distribution experience is needed.
  • Active TWIC Card

9/80 shift schedule or 5/8 shift schedule.
