Job Description

Position Summary
The Department of Surgery at the School of Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans Louisiana is seeking applicants for a faculty position in the field of Pediatric General Surgery at the rank of Assistant Professor Associate Professor or Professor. Academic rank and track will be determined based on qualifications experience and stature in the field. Qualified applicants must be Board Certified/Board Eligible (or equivalent) have completed a pediatric general surgery fellowship at a recognized institution and licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana before start date. Clinical activities will be primarily centered at Childrens Hospital of New Orleans a full service regional facility. The selected individual will serve as the Service Line Chief for the Division of Pediatric Surgery at Childrens Hospital of New Orleans. Responsibilities will include providing patient care services in the public and private settings and undertaking supervision of surgery residents. Other activities will include participation in student education resident selection and evaluation and involvement in clinical and translational research.
