Pay Rate:Hourly: Probationary $24.35 After 480 Hours $26.31 After 2080 Hours $29.45
Type of Appointment: 1year Term Appointment with the possibility of extension
Normal Work Schedule: Parttime Weekend Evenings 1624 hours per week)3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. Primarily Saturdays Sundays Statutory Holidays and additional hours as needed.

Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Residence Services Supervisor and Business Manager Ancillary Services Operations the Residence Services Desk Attendant supports the daytoday operations of Residence Services ensuring alignment with the policies procedures and objectives of Victoria University. Key responsibilities include: greeting students and visitors; managing and distributing keys; administering parking; delivering mail; checkin/outs; supports the training process of new hires and serving as the general switchboard for the University.
During the summer months the Residence Services Desk Attendant assists with the hotel and conference operations. The position involves working with a wide variety of people particularly young adults. As a first point of contact the incumbent must provide friendly professional and efficient service demonstrating tact and adaptability in a fastpaced multicultural environment. The role requires dependability sound judgment and the ability to calmly address concerns and resolve issues using available resources. Building and maintaining positive relationships with students staff and visitors is essential to success in this position.
Qualifications Required:
Education
Diploma/Certificate with some courses in hospitality and accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
Minimum of one 1)year of hotel operations residence services or customer service experience.
