POSITION TITLE: Social Services Coordinator
STATUS: FULLTIME NONEXEMPT
SUPERVISOR: Service Extension Field Rep or Director
Salary: $25$27/hour (DOE)

SCOPE OF POSITION: Provides overall supervision and oversite of the South King County Service Center. This center functions in collaboration with a local committee. Services range from financial assistance sending children to summer camp supporting those in need with basic needs back to school assistance and Christmas assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Five years social service experience preferred; three years acceptable.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have a valid drivers license and good driving record. Will need to travel within the local area as needed but most work is in an office environment with frequent interruptions multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Model an open clientcentered compassionate nonjudgmental approach
- Set boundaries and adhere to eligibility and other program guidelines
- Meet and follow all Salvation Army policies & program requirements
- Balance and manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Respond to crisis situations in a calm positive manner
- Complete tasks projects and daily requests in a timely manner
- Provide effective oral written and electronic communication
- Provide oversite of daily activities and to day to day operations of the center
- Attend agency and staff meetings as determined by supervisor
- Banking / Billing Make deposits daily as needed as well as process and code vouchers for payment
- Budget track and provide financial stewardship for all Salvation Army funds and donations
- Record report and manage all in kind donations
- Meet goals and outcomes set by the program and supervisor

- Interview and asses clients needs while keeping good records of services provided
- Provide referrals to both internal and external resources as necessary
- Answer and respond to client assistance phone calls emails and faxes within 2448 hours and respond to dropin visits as needed
- Maintain client records accurate data entry and produce reports as required by supervisor agency policy and funding sources
- Volunteer Management
- Increase and leverage volunteerism in South King County
- Provide effective leadership and training to volunteers
- Community Collaboration & Outreach
- Promote agency programs through community meetings events and presentations to community organizations or through other public relations activities
- Coordinate and facilitate a monthly Service Committee meeting
- Programs
- Coordinate recruit and grow the center programs which include but not limited to Christmas Distribution Kettles Summer Camp and Back to School programs
- Emergency Preparedness facilitate and coordinate planning center preparedness and training
- Perform other duties associated with the general responsibilities of the center and/or as assigned by supervisor
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit walk stand bend squat climb kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Ability to grasp push pull objects such as files file cabinet drawers and reach overhead
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to operate a telephone desktop or laptop computer
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes)
- Ability to access and produce information from a computer
- Ability to understand written information
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Paid Vacation: 2 weeks annually accruing from day one for nonexempt positions. 4 weeks annually accruing from day one for exempt positions. Accrued vacation eligible for use after 6 months service time.
Paid Holidays: 13 designated holidays 1 floating holiday per year
