The Role
The Senior GIS Consultant will report to the Digital Delivery team lead and work closelywith all internal teams and potentially with the wider group companies.
They will have a solid understanding of GIS mapping and data management within the context of environmental consultancy with a focus on ecology notably Biodiversity Net Gain arboriculture planning and development and major infrastructure projects.
They will help manage and maintain the companys ArcGIS Online environment as well as creating and deploying various Esri apps including but not limited to Survey123 Field Maps and Experience Builder. They will also excel in providing support troubleshooting making modifications and enhancements and maintaining existing GIS applications scripts tools and web services.
The successful candidate will also be expected to create and maintain systemrelated documentation. They must be able to demonstrate an ability to work with clients understand their needs and translate these into presentable solutions. The successful candidate will have to be comfortable applying their knowledge to new situations and developing their skills to address future challenges and the digital needs of the business. They will be solutionsoriented and work across disciplines to best serve the needs of the business as a whole.
GIS & IT Software Utilised
We expect the successful candidate will have a strong background working with GIS and be able to show proficiency and adeptness using any of the following:
Essential
- ArcGIS Pro
- ArcGIS Online
- Microsoft Excel
- Python Arcade VBScript (e.g. label expressions)
- SQL (e.g. complex definition queries)
- Survey123 and Survey123 Connect
- Field Maps
Desirable or with the ability to progress
- FME
- Experience Builder
- Python (scripting; tool development)
