QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology. Valid South Carolina certificate with certification in speech pathology.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement.
2. Provides a therapeutic program to meet the individual needs of speechlanguage and hearing students with disabilities.
3. Assists and guides teachers in observing describing and referring suspected and identified speechlanguage and hearing disorders.
4. Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech voice hearing and language disorders.
5. Provides screening to identify students with possible speechlanguage and hearing disorders.
6. Provides appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet the needs of individual students and to correct existing speechlanguage and or hearing disorders.
7. Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy suggestions for the students daily activities.
8. Provides information support and counseling to parents and families when appropriate.
9. Provides inservice education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning speechlanguage improvement.
10. Maintains thorough ongoing records for the individual student receiving therapy or other school provided speechlanguage services.
11. Maintains correct Medicaid documentation.
12. Performs all other duties as assigned.

*Full time SLPs are paid on the LSC teacher salary schedule $7000 SLP Stipend on a 200 day work agreement.
***Part time SLPs are paid the hourly rate using the daily rate (Divided by 8 Hours) for a Full Time SLP. For example an SLP with a Masters 30 with 10 years of experience is paid at the full time rate of $77626.89 or daily rate of $388.13/hourly rate of $48.52.
Speech therapists are paid on the teacher salary scale (starting pay for a masters degree statecertified teacher is $53000 with the potential to earn up to an additional $10000 with performance pay perfect attendance and additional work stipends.. The salary for this position is very competitive and commensurate with experience.
