The Role

The Scrum Product Owner is responsible for managingthe product backlog ensuring the development team works on the highestvaluefeatures that align with the companys product strategy and customer needs.

This role involves translating the product vision intospecific actionable user stories prioritizing them based on business impactand working closely with the development team throughout the sprint cycle toensure timely and highquality product delivery.

The Product Owner serves as a bridge between theProduct Director Chief Product Officer (CPO) development teams andstakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.

Primary Skillset

• Backlog prioritization user storycreation stakeholder communication agile methodology requirements gatheringsprint planning product vision alignment.
  

SecondarySkillset

• Data analysiscompetitive research technical understanding JIRA/Confluence expertisenegotiation UX/UI awareness project management.
  
• Certified Product Owner or similar Agilecertifications are preferred.
  
• Experience with product backlog management tools(e.g. JIRA Trello) is preferred.
  

Requirements

Scrum Facilitation and AgileCoaching:

• Facilitate Scrum Ceremonies:Organize and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including daily standups sprintplanning sprint reviews and retrospectives ensuring they are conductedeffectively and efficiently.
  
• Agile Coaching: Act as a coach tothe development team Product Owners and other stakeholders in Scrum and Agilebest practices promoting an understanding and adoption of Agile principles.
  

Continuous Improvement:

• Encourage continuous improvement within the team byfacilitating retrospectives and identifying actionable steps to enhanceprocesses and productivity.
  

Sprint Planning and :

• Sprint Goal Setting: Collaboratewith the Product Owner to define sprint goals and ensure they are clearlyunderstood by the development team.
  
• Backlog Refinement: Assist theProduct Owner in refining and prioritizing the product backlog to ensure thatthe team works on the highestvalue features that align with business goals.
  
• Monitoring Progress: Track andmonitor the teams progress against sprint goals and velocity ensuring thatthe team stays on track to meet commitments.
  

Impediment Removal:

• Identify and Resolve Blockers:Proactively identify and address any impediments or blockers that may impactthe teams ability to deliver on sprint commitments facilitating solutionsthat keeps the team moving forward.
  
• Advocate for Resources: Advocatefor necessary resources tools and support required by the team to achieveoptimal productivity and quality.
  

Team Development andPerformance:

• Foster Collaboration: Create acollaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages opencommunication knowledge sharing and a strong sense of team unity.
  
• Team Coaching: Provide guidance andsupport to team members to enhance their skills address challenges andpromote career development.
  
• Performance Management: Support theperformance management process by providing input on individual and teamperformance helping to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  

Quality and DeliverableManagement:

• Ensure Quality Standards: Work withthe development team and Product Owner to ensure that deliverables meet qualitystandards and acceptance criteria before being released.
  
• Velocity Optimization: Monitor andoptimize team velocity to improve the predictability and efficiency of sprintdelivery.
  
• Commitment Management: Ensure thatthe team commits to realistic and achievable sprint goals and holds the teamaccountable for meeting these commitments.
  

Collaboration andCommunication:

• CrossFunctional Coordination:Collaborate with Product Owners Product Directors and other stakeholders toensure alignment between development efforts and business objectives.
  
• Stakeholder Communication: Providetransparent communication to stakeholders regarding sprint progress potentialrisks and areas of improvement.
  
• Alignment with Product Vision:Ensure that the teams work aligns with the broader product vision and strategyset by the Chief Product Officer and Product Director.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in computerscience Information Technology Business or a related field; relevant workexperience may be considered.
  
• 3 years of experience as a ScrumMaster or in a similar role within an Agile environment.
  
• Strong understanding of ScrumAgile and Lean principles with experience applying these methodologies inrealworld scenarios.
  
• Excellent facilitation coachingand conflict resolution skills.
  
• Strong organizational skills andattention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  
• Ability to build relationships andwork collaboratively with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders.
  
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM)Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or similar Agile certifications arepreferred.
  
• Familiarity with Agile projectmanagement tools (e.g. JIRA Trello or equivalent) is preferred.
