Preferred Qualifications
Preferred education training experience and skills beyond minimum requirement: BirthKindergarten Teacher Licensure Experience working with infants and toddlers A thorough knowledge of the growth and development of young children and the ability to use this knowledge to plan and implement appropriate programs to meet childrens needs. A thorough knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and educational techniques used in teaching preschool children 0 to 5 years of age. The ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. The ability to maintain effective working relationships with students parents coworkers and faculty associated with the program. The ability to supervise students from the University doing practicum work in the program. Experience in a university child development laboratory setting. A personal philosophy embracing constructive guidance social constructivists methods an emergent negotiated curriculum documentation of childrens experiences and learning the importance of community and environment as coteacher. Documentation of current CPR and First Aid training. Must obtain criminal background check clearance. Must be trained in CPR and First Aid (within first 2 months of employment)
