The Blue Mountain Area is recruiting an organized energetic team player with strong mechanical skills to fill our full time Maintenance Mechanic 1 position. The Blue Mountain Area consists of multiple park properties 10 including Sacajawea Lyons Ferry Palouse Falls Steptoe Butte Steptoe Battlefield and Lewis & Clark Trail. This position is based out of Sacajawea State Park and will be working alongside our dedicated maintenance team to help repair maintain and construct facilities in some of Washington States most treasured places.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills and will be an outstanding team player. Any previous work with small engines basic vehicle maintenance and building/facilities maintenance will be beneficial.
Under the general supervision by the Construction & Maintenance Supervisor for Blue Mountain Area this position independently performs a variety of responsibilities that include general maintenance repair remodeling and construction duties. This position will utilize a working knowledge of several related skills such as electrical plumbing carpentry welding painting and machinist work. This position will also install repair inspect maintain physical facilities (i.e. buildings facilities and grounds) machinery and equipment and vehicles within the Blue Mountain Area.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
UNIFORM INFORMATION:All Maintenance Mechanic 1 employees are required to wear a uniform. A complete and properly worn uniform helps establish the professional identity of a Maintenance Mechanic and promotes respect as a Washington State Parks employee. All Maintenance Mechanic 1s will receive 6 shirts within the first year 2 shirts per calendar year after the first year) 1 jacket every 3 years 1 baseball cap every year 1 safety vest every 3 years and a clothing stipend of $200 per year and a $250 boot stipend every 2 years. Uniform stipends are intended to offset the cost of clothing worn in the workplace such as pants boots raingear etc.
