Business Data Technologies is looking for an exceptional leader to define and lead the next generation of solutions to further improve our natural language based interactions with data. We are looking for someone who is passionate about building great products has a strong track record of success and is excited to join our team of talented engineers.
As a Software Development Manager you will lead a team of engineers in the design development deployment and operation of products large scale applications.
You will be leading a new team with a vision to create an AIpowered experience where every Amazon employee can have natural insightful conversations with their data from discovery to insights to actions accelerating Amazons datadriven culture
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
* A strong track record of building and leading highperforming teams
* A deep understanding of software development principles and practices
* Excellent project management skills
* Excellent communication skills
* A passion for delivering innovative and userfriendly products.

Key job responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for:
* Building maintaining and organizing your team
* Defining your technical strategy and product roadmap
* Defining measuring and reporting on your key performance and operational excellence metrics
* Recruiting and retaining top talent
* Driving clarity in highly ambiguous technical environments
* Developing longterm technical roadmaps
* Guiding and coaching developers
* Managing projects effectively
* Communicating effectively with both technical and nontechnical audiences
* Motivating your team to achieve results in a fastpaced environment
A day in the life
A day in the life of this role would be a good mix of managing multiple programs focus on long term managing operational health of systems and making high impact decisions.
About the team
This is a new team with a vision to create an AIpowered experience where every Amazon employee can have natural insightful conversations with their data from discovery to insights to actions accelerating Amazons datadriven culture. We are now working on developing a semantic based search to identify the right datasets convert natural language user input to analytic query and more.
10 years of engineering experience
5 years of engineering team management experience
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
