Job Description
Job Summary
Under supervision of the Principal Investigator performs duties specific to the TROOP Trial as directed by the study staff.
Education/Experience
Background in emergency medicine or similar field or current enrollment as premed or prePA or paramedic preferred
Citi Certification in Basic Human Research
Certification in Good Clinical Practices
Skills/Qualifications
- Knowledge of scientific principles including Human Subjects Research and Good Clinical Practices
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment
Experience Gained
- Exposure to emergency department operating rooms and interventional radiology
- Teamwork with other medical staff including attendings residents nurses and pharmacists
- Clinical exposure and direct interaction with patients and families
- Experience navigating the electronic medical record
- Increased knowledge of medical terminology
Essential Functions
- Takes intermittent call in 12 hr shifts to respond to Level 1 Trauma pages
- Responds to Level 1 trauma page activations under direction of the study team.
- Performs/assists with data collection and initial determination of inclusion or exclusion into the study under the direction of the study team/clinical study coordinator.
Performs specific tasks related to study protocol.
