Responsibilities:
Standard line locating sweep methods in conjunction with GPR scanning using GSSI geophysical equipment will be utilized scans are completed to accurately locate and identify active lines abandoned lines voids/anomalies buried foundations and concrete rebar etc.
Applicant must be able to interpret and analyze GPR data onsite in real time and provide an accurate assessment of data.
A strong understanding of civil and concrete construction methods is essential. Scans will be conducted to locate underground utilities before activities like hydrovacing trenching and horizontal boring for pipeline conduit electrical piling and foundation installation.
Applicants are required to provide detailed field reports drawings and photographs of the findings to support CAD technicians with deliverables.
Effective and clear communication is needed with onsite Project Supervisors Leads Field Engineers and Client management representatives.
Safety:

Actively participate in all clients mandated safety programs
Promote a culture of safety by actively encouraging safe work practices and quality interventions. Lead by example to inspire both coworkers and all project personnel to prioritize safety.
Consistently adhere to Alberta OneCall safety protocols including color coding marking labeling and field marking practices ensuring compliance at all times.
Minimum Qualification Experience and Skills
Technician must be highly skilled to work in technically demanding live plant environments where complex underground utilities exist and limited archived information is available.
In addition to strong communication skills applicant must have strong leadership skills time management the ability to trouble and an active engagement with their surroundings.
The ability to collaborate effectively with other trades equipment and coworkers is essential for success in this role.
The ideal candidate should be proficient in reading and interpreting CAD GIS mapping and archived underground plans.
The applicant must possess a valid drivers license provide a drivers abstract and undergo a criminal record check.
Utility Advanced Line Locating (UALL) Certificate required.
Surveying and GPS experience is considered an asset.
Transmission Advanced Line Locator Certification is considered an asset.
Experience with Ground Penetrating Radar Systems (GSSI) postfield Radan processing is also an asset.
