Job Description

Accounting Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for general accounting functions such as processing cash and bank transactions accounts payable and reconciliation of vendors statements.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process cash and bank transactions that includes opening daily mails check copying and preparing courier deposit slips.

  • Generate monthly rent statements for MOB and reconcile rent receivables.

  • Assist accounting auditors as required

  • Reconcile vendor statements

  • Incharge of intermediary accounts such as the San Fernando Campus and Medical Specialized Clinic MSO (includes entering invoices processing payments and reconciling accounts).

  • Other accounting duties as assigned

  • Maintain AP system in accordance with the hospital procedures and policy
    • Timely update vendors file including required vendor w9 in file
    • Arrange payment schedule reviewed and approved by supervisor
    • Enter incoming invoices in accordance with purchase order on a timely basis get advice form supervisor if not sure about the coding
    • Pay close attention to accounting period it should be consistent with invoice date
    • Timely filing of invoices

Other Position Accountabilities:

Interact well with other personnel.

Verbal and Written

Ability to discuss questions and issues with nonfinancial personnel

Must be dependable and report to work as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Skills / Experience

Strong Background in accounts receivable and accounts payable including: 1 year experience in both.

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Word (Intermediate)
  • Microsoft Excel (Intermediate)
  • Ability to learn new computer applications for accounting functions

Ability to work independently

Physical Demands of the Job

Carry 15lbs or less for filing.
