Class Summary
- This is a parttime position with a maximum of 1508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays leave or benefits.Job Description
The Cultural and Historic Interpretation Leader will play a vital role in ensuring smooth daytoday operations of multiple Gwinnett County historic sites by supporting site management staff and visitors by performing a wide range of administrative tasks include managing correspondence maintaining records greeting visitors providing tours and supporting programmatic and outreach activities at several locations throughout the County. The role also requires familiarity with the sites mission and history enabling the specialist to assist in promoting educational initiatives and preserving the cultural integrity of the site. Strong organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders are essential for success in this role.
Essential Duties- Assisting with historic research data entry exhibit development oral history interviews and historic site asset management
- Ensuring daily maintenance of facilities and grounds including opening & closing buildings general housekeeping & maintenance duties and ensuring the facility is in safe condition
- Greeting visitors and providing tours of sites
- Assisting with completing daily weekly and monthly recordkeeping.
- Working with volunteers and interns.
- Performing miscellaneous tasks associated with running a local historic museum or site.
- Remaining available for occasional weekend and evening work.

Other Job Requirements/Information- This job may require after hours weekends and/or holidays.
$16.80
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelors degree in history museum studies public history or a related field AND
- Two years of experience in historic preservation artifact management oral history research education or a related field
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
