The Washington State Penitentiary is comprised of 4 Close Custody Units 3 Special Housing Units 2 Intensive Management Units 2 Medium Units 2 Minimum Housing Units and a Hospital. In all WSP houses approximately 2000 incarcerated individuals and approximately 1100 staff.
The Corrections and Custody Officer 3 (Correctional Sergeant) supervises and assists correctional officers as they perform custody work to ensure the safety and security of an adult correctional facility unit incarcerated individuals staff and the public. The incumbent will assign posts and duties to correctional officers give instruction and training maintain discipline and make inspections to maintain proper safety and security.
