Job Description

Description:
This position cleans maintains and cares for LYNX facilities grounds and transit/passenger amenities ensuring that their appearance and cleanliness meets LYNX Service Standards. This position takes directions from a facilities maintenance manager supervisor or lead. Incumbent in this position is eligible to participate in the Bloodborne Pathogen Program.
Essential Functions:
- Vacuums carpeting; sweeps and mops or scrubs hallways and stairs.
- Lifts moves and empties trash garbage and recycling containers; replaces discarded plastic bags with new bags.
- Cleans walls windows and ceilings; sweeps and/or washes down walkways.
- Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities and replenishes supplies.
- Cleans and maintains tools and equipment used.
- Sets up furniture and prepares rooms for special functions.
- Moves and arranges furniture and office equipment.
- Replaces light bulbs and fluorescent tubes.
- Notifies management of need for repairs.
- Operates LYNX vehicles to transport equipment and supplies to various LYNX facilities.
- Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or General Education diploma (GED); plus
- Six months of fulltime experience performing custodial work.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida drivers license and safe driving record.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Knowledge of methods materials equipment and safety procedures utilized in custodial work.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision; must be selfmotivated and able to work independently.
- Ability to learn and carry out LYNXs custodial procedures.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
- Ability to read write speak and understand English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with those encountered in the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.
- Ability to exhibit a professional courteous demeanor.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment.
Work Environment and Special Considerations:
- Will be available to work days nights weekends and holidays.
- Incumbent is eligible to participate in the Bloodborne Pathogen Program.
- LYNX provides the community with much needed public transportation and it is important for the Agency to resume its services as quickly and as safely as possible in the event of any natural technological or humancaused emergency or disaster. This position is considered a mission critical member of LYNXs emergency preparation and response efforts during an emergency or disaster and as such requires 24hour availability in the event of an emergency or disaster.
