Job Description

Opportunity for a skilled Fitter to join heavy engineering manufacturing plant. Responsible for assembling installing maintaining and repairing mechanical systems and equipment to ensure smooth production operations


Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine detailed drawings or specifications to find out job material and equipment requirements.
  • Set up and adjust metalworking machines and equipment.
  • Fit and assemble metal parts tools or subassemblies Inc. Welding.
  • Cut thread bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
  • Must have a working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Dismantle faulty assemblies and apply corrective action. Repair or replace components.
  • Check accuracy and quality of finished parts tools or subassemblies.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment availability and plant uptime.
Requirements:
  • Trade certification as a Fitter Red Seal
  • Minimum 5years of experience as a Fitter in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic pneumatic and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience in welding and fabrication is a plus.
  • Ability to use hand tools power tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work shifts. Must live in Duncanville Vereeniging Meyerton area.
