About this position
The Chaplain provides spiritual guidance and support for customers (customers/families) and team members during illness injury emergency and significant life events. The Chaplain serves as a role model for Maple Grove Hospitals values and guiding principles.
Requirements
Education
Masters degree in theology religion and/or divinity from an accredited institution.
Ecclesiastical endorsement and accountability to a recognized religious authority within one year of hire.
A minimum of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Clinical training.
Experience
Two years of pastoral experience required preferably in a health care setting.
Exemplary listener with excellent interpersonal skills and possess a friendly compassionate and approachable demeanor.
Demonstrated ability to communicate respectfully across cultures and with persons of different faiths.
Perform at a high standard of ethical behavior professionalism and confidentiality.
Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment.
Ability to work effectively in stressful situations while maintaining a calm demeanor.
Perform independently with flexibility and able to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work many nontraditional hours including night holidays and weekends.
Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to express ideas and information (both in written and oral form) clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience.
Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict in a positive manner. Has an awareness of responds to and considers the needs feelings and capabilities of others.
Ability to be accountable for quality customer service and respond appropriately to a variety of personalities and situations.
Ability to maintain quality safety and infection control standards.
Must be able to read write and speak effectively in English.
