Job Description

We invite Advanced Practice Providers to discover all that we can do when we bring healing hearts inquisitive minds and progressive visionaries together in our Critical Care team at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
The Atrium Health Cabarrus Critical Care Team is actively recruiting an experienced parttime Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. The APP will be expected to manage medical surgical cardiac and cardiothoracic surgery ICU patients and attend and contribute to group/practice meetings development of policies and procedures and quality improvement initiatives.
About the position:
- Parttime position 0.8 fte 116 shifts per year
- 100 inpatient adult medicine
- Service provides 24/7 coverage with shiftbased model to a 54 bed ICU consisting of a mixed patient population of medical surgical and cardiovascular adult patients.
- Shifts are 13 hours long and include days nights weekends and holidays. Shifts are rotated equally among staff.
- Current group consists of 14 physicians and 13 APPs
- Employer paid benefits and CME allowance offered
Position Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program. License to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina. Prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS for healthcare provider from AHA required.
- Nurse practitioners are required to have a Masters Degree or Post Masters Certificate in Acute Care
- Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred. Current or pending CAQ certification preferred.
- NP/PA or RN experience in ICU required
- Knowledgeable about the following procedures or willing to learn: Central Line Placement Arterial Line Placement and Intubation
