Job Description
Anticipated Hiring Range: $17.53 $19.72 hourly
Job Summary:
Ice Haus Coach Figure Skatingis an integral part of the recreation division with the City of Greeley and isresponsible for providing quality customer service to patrons as well as the oversight of Ice Haus programs with the responsibility for safety instructing and supervising and testing ice skating lesson participants.
Experience Knowledge Skills:
- Must have passed Preliminary figure skating levels both in Moves Inthe Field and Freeskate.
- Must have coaching insurance through Learn toSkate USAUSFSA or PSA.
- Current certification in CPR First Aid and AED or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire required.
Essential Functions:
Program Instruction
- Instruct test and evaluate participants in the skating lesson program.
- Adequately plan and prepare in advance of teaching in an effort to foster skill development in eachparticipant.
- Provide ongoing corrective feedback to participants and relay progress to parents/guardians.
- Maintain order and discipline in classes to ensure a safe environment and to promote a learning atmosphere.
Facility/ RiskManagement
- Enforce all facility rules safety and policies.
- Ensure participants use of City equipment such as rental skates is within established guidelines.
Customer Service & Engagement
- Demonstrate professionalism in all forms of communication such as inperson email phone calls video calls and texts.
- Enforce facility regulations policies and procedures; positively represent the City in interactions.
- Resolve program issues within established guidelines.
- Relay various inquiries to supervisors.
Work Environment andPhysical Requirements:
- Frequent and heavy contact with the public and City employees in person and by telephone.
- Frequent interruptions.
- Flexibility to work early mornings weekdays nights weekends evenings and holidays.
- Work performed in cold indoor settings.
- Majority of work performed on ice surface.
- Regular exposure to loud noises
- Work involves skating walking standing stretching bending as well as lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
