Global Insights works closely with the game development business and internal service teams at Blizzard to produce insights and models that enable us to make the most epic player experiences. The AI&ML(machine learning) team within Global Insights focuses on applying the latest in key research areas to build lasting data products and tools for our game development and business teams.
We are looking for a Data Scientist who has experience in reinforcement learning to join our AI&MLteam. Blizzard data scientists design and deploy datapowered products and services that scale to the terabytes of data that Blizzard games generate every day. The ideal candidate is passionate about applying machine learning specifically reinforcement learning to gameplay AI and has experience developing and deploying the solutions to realworld problems.
Responsibilities
Research and develop stateoftheart machine learning solutions for reinforcement learning based gameplay AI to enhance game development and gameplay objectives.
Work closely with machine learning engineers and software engineers to deploy automate and maintain models seamlessly on production systems.
Communicate about machine learning models and products to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters or PhD in computer science and machine learning related field with a specialization in singleagent and multiagent RL in games or robotics.
Handson applied or research experience with one or more of the following: reinforcement learning imitation learning optimization supervised/unsupervised learning etc.
Proficient in Python and experienced in at least one other higherlevel programming language like Java C C# Scala etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with game engines like Unreal or Unity.
Experience with cloud computing services like Google Cloud AWS (Amazon Web Service) or Azure.
Experience applying reinforcement learning to a realtime application or environment.
Experience working with headless cloud computing resources in a parallelized compute environment.
A track record of original contributions to research communities of ML AI and reinforcement learning.
Practical experience with Tensorflow Pytorch or Keras.

These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately your specific range and offer will be based on several factors including relevant experience performance and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this roles range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates new hire compensation is negotiable.
