Description / Position Overview

Senior Airport Operations Agent Colorado Springs Airport
The City of Colorado Springs is ready to welcome a Senior Airport Operations Agent to the Colorado Springs Airport! As a Senior Airport Operations Agent you will conduct safety and security inspections of the Airport (Colorado Springs Airport) including runway and taxiway surface conditions and lighting refueling equipment and fuel storage areas. You will also ensure compliance with CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) 14 Part 139 and TSA (Transportation Security Administration) 1542.

Job Type: Fulltime. nonexempt
Hourly Salary: $28.54 $34.27
Work Schedule: 4 10hour work weeks. Either Wednesday Saturday or Sunday Wednesday. Shift times are 5AM 3PM or 12PM 10PM depending on crew assignment after hire. This position requires that you are available for emergency and after hour callouts. Additional availability for oncall for snow removal.

PreEmployment Requirements:The selected candidate must pass (or have already passed) a fingerprintbased criminal history records check as required by the Transportation Security Administration.


As a Senior Airport Operations Agent for the Colorado Springs Airport you will:

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of:

  • Airport operations airfield maintenance TSA regulations FAA regulations and the Airport Security Program.
  • Principles and practices of aviation program development and implementation
  • Federal State and Local laws
  • City practices policies and procedures.
  • Standard office technology
  • Radio communication procedures
  • Phonetic alphabet and aviation terminology

Ability to:

  • Demonstrate strong communication and leadership
  • Demonstrate effective timely judgement
  • Quickly recognize and analyze irregular events
  • Work with frequent interruptions and changes in priority
  • Stay informed of airport operational safety and security issues
  • Manage emergencies and stay calm under pressure
  • Coordinate and direct airfield operations activities
  • Recommend and implement goals and objectives for providing airfield services
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with other City employees and the public
  • Obtain and maintain airfield driving movement & nonmovement privileges
