As a Research Fellow in Health Economics youll have the exciting opportunity to specialise in evaluating paediatric interventions and programs. Youll work alongside worldclass researchers at Melbourne Health Economics and the Child Health Economics Unit developing and managing innovative research projects. This role offers you the chance to shape your own research program collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to highquality publications that influence child health outcomes globally.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct Innovative Research: Develop and manage health economics research programs focusing on paediatric interventions and producing highquality publications.
- Collaborate and Engage: Work with multidisciplinary teams participate in professional activities and engage with external stakeholders to advance health economics research.
- Contribute to Teaching and Learning: Participate in the Schools educational activities sharing your expertise with the next generation of health economists.
- Drive Research Impact: Disseminate findings through conferences manage outreach activities and contribute to grant applications to secure funding for future studies.
You may be a great fit if:
You are a passionate researcher with postgraduate qualifications in a quantitative or healthrelated discipline bringing valuable experience in health economic evaluations and a keen interest in paediatric health outcomes.
You may also:
- Possess postgraduate qualifications in economics public health epidemiology biostatistics or a related field.
- Have experience in conducting health economic evaluations particularly in paediatric settings.
- Demonstrate excellent analytical and writing skills for producing highquality research outputs.
- Be a collaborative team player with strong communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Show initiative in developing research programs and securing funding opportunities.

Your new team Melbourne Health Economics
Melbourne Health Economics (MHE) is a team of about 30 health economists and 12 PhD students. MHE delivers a successful programme of teaching within the Masters in Public Health and a Graduate Certificate in Health Economics and Economic Evaluation.
Melbourne Health Economics comprises 4 units:
- Child Health Economics Unit
- Economics of Genomics and Precision Medicine Unit
- Economics of Global Health and Infectious Diseases Unit
- Health Economics and Simulation Modelling for Chronic Disease Unit
