This position offers a unique opportunity to directly impact public infrastructure by designing roads water systems and storm drainage projects that benefit the community. It provides broad exposure to multiple civil engineering disciplines making it ideal for those looking to expand their expertise beyond a single focus area. PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

Key Responsibilities:
- Civil 3D Design & Drafting Create detailed construction drawings including plans profiles sections and details for transportation water sewer and storm drainage projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Technical Support & Collaboration Assist engineers the Design Technician Manager and other technical staff with design and drafting tasks while providing technical information to internal teams and the public.
- Topographic Review & Field Verification Analyze survey base maps review asbuilts and utility records and conduct field investigations to ensure design accuracy and completeness.
- Engineering Calculations & Quantity Takeoffs Perform technical calculations related to civil infrastructure design and assist with cost estimation by conducting quantity takeoffs for capital improvement projects.
- Standards Compliance & Document Management Ensure designs align with City standards and regulations while maintaining accurate project records and utilizing tools like Bluebeam and Microsoft Office for documentation.

We are looking for candidates who have:
- A blend of education and experience including two 2 years collegelevel course work in civil engineering and drafting combined with Three 3 years of handson experiencecivil engineering design and drafting experienceusing Civil Engineering Design Software. Candidates should posses advanced expertise and knowledgeof computeraided drafting and design (CADD) softwareproficiency in the most versions of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Note: Additional experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year for year basis.
Licenses & Certifications- Possess and retain a valid state drivers license without impending loss at time of appointment.
