The Natural Sciences Department in the Division of Liberal Arts and Sciences is seeking a person to assist in the operation of the Kika Silva Pla Planetarium. The Kika Silva Pla Planetarium serves college and public school students special groups and the general public.
The Planetarium is seeking a student with an active interest in Astronomy to assist with the operation of the Planetarium.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Present planetarium shows to the public.
- Handling money and selling tickets for planetarium shows.
- Assist the Planetarium Manager and/or Planetarium Assistant with public outreach activities.
- Assist the Planetarium Manager and/or Planetarium Assistant with the operation of the Kika Silva Pla Planetarium.
- Provide service excellence through courteous informed accessible and professional engagement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Reports to: Planetarium Manager
Qualifications
Required: The Educational Aide must be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College Student in good academic and behavioral standing taking six 6 or more credit hours. A criminal background check will be conducted.
Preferred: Successful completion or current enrollment in AST 1002.

- Ability to work successfully in a multicultural environment.
- Customer Service ability to respond promptly and courteously to all questions from students and faculty demonstrating patience and persistence when helping students with little or no computer skills.
- Detail Oriented Proven accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ethics able to demonstrate integrity professionalism civility and a high degree of ethics in all jobrelated actions
