Leads and supports a team of maintenance technicians temporary personnel and/or provides guidance to contract personnel assigned to Mayo Clinic. Coordinates workflow and completion of work orders through a computerized maintenance management program (CMMP). Assists team members in the completion of work orders and may complete work orders assigned to them. Performs routine and preventive maintenance on but not limited to: refrigeration equipment icemakers freezers ultra colds Nurse call systems R.O. panels terminal distribution units exhaust fans modular cooling units AC units plumbing systems and fixtures medical gas systems electrical branch circuits and closets water distribution systems including secondary plumbing systems and life safety systems. Serves as primary contact with customers for problem resolution and a representative of Facilities and Campus Planning to the customer contractors vendors and compliance/regulatory agencies. May conduct and participate in quality and safety assurance tours of the facilities. Participates in the orientation and training of new facilities maintenance staff and participates in the annual mandatory training of staff resulting in a competent team. Interfaces with project management and provides input to design and construction teams as necessary. Assumes responsibility for daily functions of the team in the absence of the manager/supervisor. Rotation to oncall schedule and nonregular shifts may be required.
High school diploma/GED required; Minimum of four 4 years of related preventative maintenance repair and troubleshooting experience or trade related certification or license in HVAC electrical plumbing refrigeration or mechanical required. Minimum four years of related experience required. Completion of a vocational/technical program in HVAC electrical systems plumbing refrigeration or a related field preferred.
Previous hospital or health care maintenance experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to utilize lockout/tagout and adherence to Life Safety policies and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare requirements preferred.
Demonstrated basic understanding of Windows based software and the ability to utilized preventative maintenance programs.
Demonstrated ability to read write and speak English.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
Ability to evaluate problems and implement solutions.
Ability to perform in a team setting with minimal supervision.
Ability to read and understand construction documents and schematics.
Must have a valid Arizona drivers license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
