This is NOT a remote position the job requires inperson work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Teach a range of Chemistry and Biochemistry courses and work with the Physical Sciences Concentration specialization of the Associate in Science in the Natural Science Degree Program.
2. Work collaboratively with colleagues to support Chemistry classes in support of various degrees.
3. Work with colleagues to identify plan develop and implement curriculum and learning strategies to meet student special population college and community needs.
4. Perform related work activities including but not limited to:
   1. Advising and counseling students; preparing/adapting/revising Student Learning Outcomes and Assessment strategies for all courses
   2. Developing and/or redesigning curricula for online and other distance education applications; participating in campusrelated activities
   3. Independently planning organizing and carrying out instructional and noninstructional assignments
5. Provide college and community service including student recruitment.
6. Participate in professional development activities related to program development.
7. Perform chemistryrelated duties as assigned.
8. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Masters Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry

OR

• Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering Geochemistry Chemical Oceanography Organic Chemistry Forensics Chemistry Chemical Physics or Environmental Chemistry with 18 credits of advanced coursework in Chemistry or Biochemistry.

(Advanced coursework is defined as 300400 level courses offered in a Bachelors Program)

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Strong preference given to candidates with teaching experience preferably at college community college or postsecondary level with an emphasis on Chemistry and Introductory Biochemistry firstyear chemistry courses.
2. PhD in Chemistry or related field.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of SmallScale Chemistry methodology.
4. Experience with developing Chemistry courses including laboratory sections.
5. Knowledge through course work and/or experience with educational technology distance education and alternative educational delivery systems.
6. Work experience in business government industry and/or nonprofit organizations demonstrating practical application of academic content.
7. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and to communicate verbally and in writing.
8. Experience in working with people from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
9. Experience teaching in the first two years of a Chemistry curriculum.
