As aLaboratory Assistantyou will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests involving soil concrete and asphalt samples.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and test samples of concrete and soils to determine their properties including strength durability permeability and other mechanical properties.
Conduct tests on materials used in construction such as aggregates cement and asphalt
Responsible for maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment ensuring that all testing procedures are performed accurately and recording and analyzing data.
Responsible for writing reports and communicating findings to engineers
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience working outdoors
Must be at least 18 years old for entry onto job sites must be able to lift up to 80 pounds repeatedly
Ability to read and write ability to use a computer
Willingness to complete additional training or certification programs such as ACI ASTM and AASHTOs to specialize in concrete and soils testing
Preferred Qualifications:
ACI ASTM and AASHTOs Certifications
