2025 Co-Op RNA Science

The Role
We are seeking a motivated individual to join the CoOp Program within RNA Science. In this role you will focus on understanding the mechanisms of RNA degradation to support the advancement of Modernas mRNA pipeline. The researcher will be heavily involved in the design and of cellbased experiments to evaluate the effect of modified mRNAs on expression and stability. This role will involve the of techniques such as tissue culture transfections/electroporations live cell imaging RNA extraction and RTqPCR. The projects will be aimed at customizing mRNA therapies for various modalities that span from Rare disease to Immunooncology.

The candidate must be selfmotivated and possess the desire to drive a project to completion. Candidates must be flexible and comfortable working in a firstpaced teamoriented environment. Biology Chemistry Biochemistry or Bioengineeringrelated majors are strongly encouraged to apply.
Our CoOp Program runs from July 21 2025 December 12 2025. Candidates must be available for the entire duration of the program.

Heres What Youll Do

• Work on a personal project that directly impacts the progress of Modernas mRNA therapeutic platform

• Design conduct and troubleshoot invitro/exvivo/cellbased experiments independently and/or in collaboration with colleagues

• Learn and perform multiple experimental techniques including tissue culture cell transfection live cell imaging RTqPCR and other biochemical assays

• Contribute to data analysis and interpretation of study results

• Perform literature searches to contribute to current understanding of the technology

• Maintain accurate and uptodate records of experiments in electronic laboratory notebook

• Present your work/project(s) at group meetings and at a final poster session

• Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time

Heres What Youll Need (Basic Qualifications)

• Minimum GPA of 3.5

• Currently enrolled in any accredited college or university (FreshmanSenior)

• Previous coop or internship experience is preferred but not necessary

• Experience/exposure to lab work preferred but not necessary

• Major in biology biochemistry chemistry or bioengineering strongly preferred
