Are you ready for a dynamic and rewarding role Were looking for one passionate educator to step into a unique dualposition as a Jr. Kindergarten Academy Teacher & Enrichment Specialist! This role is split 50/50spend your mornings shaping young minds as a Jr. Kindergarten teacher and your afternoons supporting student success as an Enrichment Specialist.
REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this position applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for both positions.
Junior Kindergarten Classroom Teacher
EDUCATION LEVEL:
Bachelors degree and endorsements in the areas of teaching assignment. Certification alternative certification or licensure: current valid South Dakota teaching certificate.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
Successful student teaching.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Handeye mindeye coordination. Constant hearing; intermittent speaking standing walking and writing. Frequent carrying keyboarding and other repetitive motions.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Skills in human relations leadership and conflict management. Knowledgeable of teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of students. Demonstrated skills in the use of technology to enhance student learning.
Junior Kindergarten Enrichment Specialist
EDUCATION LEVEL:
Successful completion of 2year Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education Program
EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
Successful student teaching.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires constant handeye and mindeye coordination hearing; intermittent speaking standing walking and writing. The ability to provide physical management to students with behavior or selfcare needs is required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated skills in human relations leadership and conflict management. Demonstrated competency in word processing spreadsheets and databases.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
Junior Kindergarten Academy Classroom Teacher (Morning Only)
1. Ability to Plan and Prepare Instructional Tasks
2. Provide Instruction to Students
3. Provide Effective Classroom Environment
4. Participate in Professional Growth Opportunities and Demonstrate Professionalism
5. Follow District and building policies and procedures.
6. Support of District goals.
7. Report student progress to parents and students.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Junior Kindergarten Enrichment Specialist(Afternoon Only)
1. Leads assigned classes in accordance with District approved programs of study.
2. Abides by School Board policies and rules and handbooks.
3. Maintains student records in compliance with district state and federal requirements.
4. Participates in parent conferences and communicates with parents on a routine basis keeping them wellinformed about their childs school progress.
5. Utilizes effective teaching techniques and practices.
6. Establishes student success as a primary teaching goal and provides opportunity for all students to experience success.
7. Promotes developmental growth and achievement for all students.
8. Monitors and encourages student classroom effort as a means for academic progress.
9. Establishes classroom management system that promotes the most efficient use of learning time.
10. Establishes a learning climate that promotes the orderly behavior of all students while maintaining the dignity and positive selfconcept of each student.
11. Provides for the wellbeing health and safety of all students.
12. Participates in staff development opportunities as provided.
13. Maintains the confidentiality of students and their families.
14. Performs other duties as assgined.

PAY INFORMATION
Classroom Teacher

Please note the salary schedule is based on 1.0 FTE. Salary will be prorated based on the 0.5 FTE as classroom teacher.
Enrichment Specialist
Level KX starting at $22.88 per hour
Pay Day: Last working day of each month.
HOURS & FTE
Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with a 30minute unpaid break
1.0 FTE 40 hours per week 9 months
Classroom Teacher
Morning Hours 20 hours per week
Enrichment Specialist
Afternoon Hours 20 hours per week

- Address the various learning styles
- Sequence content at an appropriate pace
- Use appropriate level of questioning to promote understanding
- Relate lesson content to prior and future learning
- Require students to summarize information in written and/or verbal form
- Appropriately recognize and reinforce individual student effort
- Represent knowledge/information nonlinguistically through a variety of methods
- Organize students in cooperative or ability groups when appropriate
- Require students to analyze and apply knowledge
- Display enjoyment humor and enthusiasm for teaching and expect students to enjoy learning
- Conduct ongoing assessments for learning.
