The Procurement Engineer Specialist is responsible to coordinate with Quality and Supplier Quality Engineer team to ensure suppliers are delivering products per Hitachi Energy standards ontime and onquality.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Collaborate with them to improve product quality lead time and cost reduction.
Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key quality performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers including defect rates ontime delivery and supplier capacity.
Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement efforts both internally and with suppliers by recommending process enhancements supporting Lean or Six Sigma projects and driving operational excellence.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of supplier performance nonconformance reports (NCRs) corrective actions and improvement initiatives.
CrossFunctional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as purchasing engineering manufacturing and logistics to address supplier performance issues and ensure product specifications are met.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical Electrical Industrial or related field) or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement Supplier Quality Quality Engineering or related field within manufacturing or automotive industries.
Proven experience in improvement projects and root cause analysis.
Certifications:
Desirable Attributes:
Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
Ability to travel domestically or internationally to visit suppliers when required.
