Digital Development Lead Java AWS

We are seeking a highly skilled handson and motivated Digital Development Lead for a hybrid role based out Naperville IL to design develop and deploy scalable cloudbased solutions using Java and AWS. As a technical leader you will work with a team of developers to ensure technical excellence and drive successful delivery of complex software projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

Lead projects and mentor a team of Java developers ensuring quality deliverables and adherence to timelines.

Conduct code reviews enforce best practices and provide technical guidance to the team.

Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment to encourage team growth and performance with onshore and offshore teams.

Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

Software Development:

Design and develop robust scalable and maintainable Javabased applications.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements define technical solutions and align business objectives with technical deliverables.

Ensure the application of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.

Cloud Development & Architecture:

Design and implement robust scalable and efficient applications using Java and AWS services.

Develop and optimize microservices architecture hosted on AWS.

Ensure high availability and fault tolerance of applications using AWS tools and best practices.

Technical Oversight:

Architect and implement complex backend and microservices solutions.

Stay updated with the latest trends in Java technologies and recommend improvements.

Troubleshoot and resolve application performance scalability and security issues.

Stay current with emerging AWS services and Java frameworks to drive innovation.

Project Management:

Plan prioritize and allocate development tasks to meet project deadlines.

Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (DevOps QA and Product) to ensure seamless delivery of software solutions.

Provide regular updates to stakeholders and management on project status.

Requirements:

Technical Skills:

Java Expertise:

Advanced knowledge of Java 8 Spring Boot Spring Cloud and Hibernate/JPA.

Experience with building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.

Familiarity with frontend technologies like JavaScript Angular or React is a plus.

AWS Knowledge:

Proficient in AWS services such as EC2 S3 Lambda RDS DynamoDB API Gateway ECS/EKS and CloudFormation.

Familiarity with AWS monitoring tools like CloudWatch XRay or AWS Config.

DevOps Integration:

Experience with CI/CD pipelines containerization tools (e.g. Docker) and infrastructure as code tools (e.g. Terraform CloudFormation).

Knowledge of version control systems like Git and build tools such as Gradle.

Database & Security:

Handson experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

Strong understanding of security best practices including identity and access management (IAM) in AWS.

Experience:

8 years of professional software development experience with Java.

3 years of experience in cloudbased application development using AWS.

Proven track record of leading development teams and delivering successful projects.

Education:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.

AWS Certification (e.g. AWS Certified Developer AWS Certified Solutions Architect).

The above represents BMO Financial Groups pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location skills experience education and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. Salaries for parttime roles will be prorated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Groups expected target for the first year in this position.
