Software Dev Manager - L6 Payee Management

In Amazon Finance Automation we build products that ensure accurate and ontime payments for millions of Amazon vendors including publishers app developers game developers marketplace sellers associates and others. Our challenge is to deliver the software systems that accurately capture and process the huge volume of financial transactions that are generated each day as millions of customers make purchases as thousands of vendors and partners are paid as inventory moves in and out of warehouses as commissions are calculated and as taxes are collected in multiple jurisdictions worldwide.

Key job responsibilities
1. Build strategic roadmaps by driving consensus among product and tech teams; be a catalyst in multiple feature prioritization and fasttrack decisionmaking that impact the create grow and deprecate stages of the product lifecycle.
2. Establish mechanisms that promote agility and engineering excellence through continuous iterations till you achieve optimal outcomes.
3. Lead a team of software engineers responsible for the design development and testing of the Amazon Finance Automation Solution
4. Advise and consult with other SDMs and Senior Engineers on design and architecture
5. Provide support and coverage across regions while organizing and contributing to meetings representing your projects and programs effectively.
6. Act as a subject matter expert by synthesizing the problems and the solutions into a simple and consumable manner and communicate effectively to a crossfunctional audience.
7. Hire and mentor software engineers and actively participate in their career development
8. Evaluate and recommend new and emerging products and technologies


5 years of engineering team management experience
10 years of engineering experience
5 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
